Edible Blue

About June in the South, blueberries go from tiny green berries to luscious fat blueberries. They are not edible until they are blue. They are a feast for the eyes and when they are fat and blue, it is hard to walk away! This is a 10 X 14 inch watercolor using MaimeriBlu paint on 300# paper. Ready to frame in standard size mat and frame of your choice.

Oliveyou

Still trying to see how many colors I can sneak into a painting. You would think olives are just green and red. Just seven colors this time. This is a 4 X 6 FW acrylic ink painting on 300# paper.

Formed by Wind

Usually we keep our back to the sand dunes, pay little attention to them, until the water carves or takes them. As a kid, it was perfectly acceptable to climb and slide down the dunes. We thought they were as much fun as the water. Back in the day they were so much taller or were they really? Or was that just the perspective of a kid?

This is a 6 x 8 watercolor. It is a standard size and will easily fit in a standard size mat and frame. I used watercolor paper and MaimeriBlu paints.

Out of Darkness

I have always heard paint your feelings. I am mostly happy and it is reflected in my paintings. May fourth of this year I lost my sweet Daddy. He was 95 years old. He still had his driver's license, still lived in his home with his wife of 62 years (my Mom). I was a Daddy's girl to the max. I will always miss him and cherish the memories we had. This painting: "Out of Darkness" is watercolor on yupo paper. It conveys the somber lost feelings of losing someone  you love. The light piercing  through the darkness is the hope I have of not remaining here in this dark place and time.

Bliss

You can only imagine with a name like "Bliss", what a wonderful cat to know! Intense eyes and the softest fur in every shade of grey. I painted bliss six times and on the seventh go, finally nailed it. MaimeriBlu watercolors on watercolor paper.

Eventide

Eventide, somewhere between sunset and dusk, does not last long enough. It is way too short a time when you are looking over the water on a balmy evening. I keep those moments tucked away in my heart! 11 x 14 original painting on watercolor paper using FW inks.

Maddox Dunes

This is a 10 x 14 watercolor of sand dunes at OKI. Probably about the only time I am a plein air painter. The foliage and shadows were the first thing to get my attention. Well, it didn't hurt that the weather was perfect on the beach. I named it Maddox Dunes because a sweet little baby girl named Maddox was on her first vacation at the beach. Her daddy bought this painting for her. Painted with MarimeriBlu watercolors on watercolor paper.

Tools in Tin

The FW acrylic inks are very versatile. This painting, painted with FW inks, is on tin! It is a little like painting on glass. The inks slide every where to begin with and then begins to adhere to the tin. My favorite part is the use of shapes.

30 Paintings in 30 Days

I accepted Leslie Saeta's challenge to paint 30 paintings in 30 days. I learned a lot more than I thought I would. It was certainly a challenge! The photo collage did not quite hold all of them, but they are all on this blog. Most are for sale, but some are privately owned. Looking at them as a collection is eye opening. I love bright colors, nautical anything, & flowers.

Moon River

Moon River, wider than a mile, I'm crossing you in style some day. Oh dream maker, you heart breaker. Wherever you're going, I'm going your way. Two drifters, off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. We're after the same rainbow's end, waiting around the bend, my huckleberry friend. Moon river and me.

Thats the song that rises up in my heart every time I see the moon on the ocean. And then my eyes leak!

FW acrylic ins on watercolor paper.

Head in the Sand

Flamingos put their head in the sand and swish their beaks back and forth to gather food. Who would have thought they eat this way. They are born white or grey but become bright warm colors based on their diet. This is a 5 x 7 FW acrylic ink painting on 300# watercolor paper.
